Artist's Statement
I see my work as a journey from simplicity to complexity through the manipulation of form.
Using traditional precious materials and handskills in a process of construction and repetition I create contemporary studio jewellery.
Process is key in the development of my designs which continue to evolve whilst at the bench.
Recent work represents both organic and geometric forms, where symmetry and asymmetry co-exist: an exploration of line,volume and movement.
By using surface textures and the random placement of kinetic elements, a sense of rythm and tension occurs, my aim is to intrigue, to invite closer scrutiny, to create work which is accessible yet thought provoking.
