Manchester Town Hall

The Dazzle Exhibition at Manchester Town Hall will run from 23rd November until Sunday 3rd January 2010.                                                                                                                                            

As usual the exhibition will be open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am to 6.30pm Thursday and Friday, 9.30am to 6.30pm Saturday and 11am to 5pm Sundays. There will be some later openings nearer to Christmas. To check phone 0161 234 1733 nearer the time.


Designers

JANE ADAM

Jane Adam is one of Britain's leading studio jewellers. Graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1985, she has taken part in hundreds of group and solo exhibitions in Britain and abroad. In many major public and private collections, including those of the Crafts Council, London; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery; Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design, New York, USA; and Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, USA.

KATHRYN ADAMSON

Edinburgh. Wood, felt and other mixed media. Published in Crafts Council Gift Guide 2005. Exhibitions include Crafts Council Gallery, London and the Leith Gallery, Edinburgh.

ALAN ARDIFF

Dublin. Silver and gold. Major international name. Commissions include for "Riverdance"; Eurovision Song Contest & Dublin Regional Authority. In the collection of Billy Connolly, the Danish Embassy & Arthur Anderson. Exhibitions and outlets include Electrum, London and Rubicon Gallery, Dublin. Exhibited in Jewellery Moves, National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh.

ALENA ASENBRYL

Manchester. Uses various materials including textiles, plastics and mixed metals. Outlets include Manchester Craft & Design Centre (her own gallery), Lesley Craze, London, The Harley Gallery, Worksop, Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester & the Craft & Design Centre, Leeds.

KATE BAJIC

Midlands based. Handmade, high quality, bespoke, contemporary jewellery produced in small quantities as limited-edition pieces, one-off's or by commission. Necklaces, pendants, earrings, rings and brooches made with precious metals and gemstones.

NICOLA BECCI

My work is really an exploration of decoration using many sources of inspiration, the main ones being the rich symbolism of the Catholic Church, the trappings of royalty, playing cards and chess, calligraphy and the language of symbolism. Food and confectionary are the source for some of my most recent pieces.

HOLLY BELSHER

Silver & gold with signature reticulated (melted) surface texture, semi-precious stones, pearls & natural pebbles. One of the original 1981 exhibitors. Outlets include Gallery 9, Bath; Diana Porter Gallery, Bristol; Contemporary Applied Arts, London; Bluecoat Display Centre, Liverpool ; New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham; & Primavera, Cambridge.

EMMA BOXALL-GRAY

Edinburgh based jeweller who graduated from Edinburgh College of Art 2008.  Emma has been an artist in residence at the college for the part year.  Works using a combination of precious metal and non precious materials. 

JESSICA BRIGGS

Sheffield. Silver with 18 and23.5 carat golds. Inthe collection of the Cohn Foundation, USA. Work bought by Will Young, James Nesbitt and Michael Stipe.

NINA BUKVIC

London based. Works in gold, oxidized silver, rough diamonds, pearls. Outlets include Electrum, CAA - London. Design Yard - Dublin Scottish Gallery - Edinburgh, Alternatives - Rome, Barneys - USA.
